Valentine's Day Surprise

I was completely surprised with my husband today. He handed me a Gordon Jewelers bag. In the bag are a heart necklace and a Valentine's card. I didn't expect the gifts at all. I thought it is no longer "uso" for we've been married for a couple years and that he might put this sweet deed aside.

What shocked me is that when I opened the jewelry box I found the necklace I was eyeing on days ago. I almost bought it for myself for it is too pretty. I am glad I did not do it, somebody did..hehe my husband got it for me how awesome! Thanks to the most wonderful husband alive! He never ceases to surprise me.

Also I am so touched of the message in the card. I thought he always picked the right kind of card that brings warmth to my heart.

A Day Before Valentine's Day

Today is February the 13th, a day before Valentine's day apparently lol. My husband and I don't talk about it, I don't even have a plan or something to give to him. For me, Valentine's day isn't a big deal nor it is a very special occasion to really spend money on to something. So what if I don't receive presents or treat to dinner for V.D? Anyway, it feels like everyday is a Valentine's day for me having him in my life. He always look after for his family's welfare and that is enough for me to think everyday is a special day for me and to all of us as long as we shall be together until the end of time!

One Week

Married life isn't always a bed of roses, part of it are misunderstandings, lovers' quarrel and other spices in life that makes the relationship grow stronger. My husband and I are married for over 7 years and all those years we shared together we have had only very few misunderstandings. Most part of the marriage is happy and just love is always within us.

However, if there are things we argue, often resolve it but there were times when things are hard to get over with so I am the one who usually making it a big deal. Anyway, he got me pissed last Sunday night and for that I stopped talking to him and he was completely unaware of it until he arrived home from work the following day which was Monday afternoon.

As we went to bed Sunday night, he kissed me goodnight but I did not respond. Monday he was at work he sent me messages on ym and on my cp but I chose not to reply them so when he got home he asked me what's going on, still I was not talking. When I am pissed at him I just don't wanna talk or do anything with him until I feel okay back again. He confronted me alright and he asked if I want it to last for one week, I did not say anything so he assumed I want it that way. So be it!

As the cold war goes until this writing of entry, we continued ignoring each other. I talk to my kids though and so he does. Well, I am not ignoring him completely because I talk to him a few words once in a while but you know there is tension in the air for we really are not in good terms right now...hmm no not yet! Hehehe...

Oh well, it is fine and I find no wrong with it bec. it is part of the marriage as well as the relationship would be boring without cold wars or whatsoever lol.

Sorry?

I didn't expect to receive some flowers from the husband this afternoon. He has been an asshole that is why he gave me some flowers. Last night before we went to sleep, we had this short pillow fight, I used my girl's light pillow and he used the hardest and heavy pillow on me, he hit me twice in my face which caused me to see a firefly. It hurts so much that it made me cry so I went to sleep crying...

When he came home this afternoon he handed me these pink beautiful long stemmed flowers. I immediately put them in a vase. He said, "I've been an asshole"..and I replied back "I'm glad you know it". He grinned!

In a relationship, there will always be misunderstandings and hurt feelings but what's important is the couple knows how to acknowledge their mistake and willing to say sorry. That is what those flowers for, he is sorry that is why he gave me flowers. I told him, if he can be an asshole everyday so I can have flowers everyday.

He Find Me Weird Which Is Weird

We are turning 7 years of our marriage in 11 days. Wow that long already? It felt like it was just yesterday when we tied the knot. I am blessed and thankful for another blissful year of being together. In relation to me being married to my husband, I still find him attractive and handsome despite of our slightly grown bellies (I don't take that as criticism instead it's a sign of progress for both of us, we are having a good life you know lol), I am too vocal of my feeling towards him and from time to time, whenever I feel like saying it, I would blurt it out to him saying, "hmmmmm you look so guapo times like when he just showered or coming home from work". Then he would reply to me, you're weird. For what? For finding me handsome, he said. LMAO! So what? Of course he is handsome because I picked him. I married him!

A Wife's Joke

After the wife and the husband made love last weekend, she remembered one joke while she was still in her own country years ago and she asked her husband to test if he will answer her question correctly.

Wife: Lalabs, do you know the question women often ask to their partners after having sex?
Husband: do you love me?
Wife: Wrong. She would ask "where is my panty?"

...and that's what I asked to him that made him chuckle.

Riding With A Superhero

We had a close call to an accident last Sunday. We were going to the Filipino market at that time taking the busy service roads when all of the sudden this other driver driving a van just crossed the street without looking to an incoming traffic. My husband was driving at least 40 miles an hour and had very little time to act quickly. He was gonna go right but then the van continued crossing the street so the husband had to steer left. His driving skill and being in the law enforcement for 19 years was tested last Sunday with all his family riding with him in the car. It was the other driver's fault for he failed to yield and gave us the right of way.

His wise thinking and quick maneuvering saved us from a disastrous accident. It could have slowed down our day and worst got stuck in a hot summer temperature with our little girls. I was thankful nothing happened to us, and thankful enough to the husband who at that time proved to us that he can take care of his family even in an unexpected circumstances.

Toddler Gear: The Only 5 Items You Need

I hate it when I stepped or tripped into my girl's toys. Not only it hurts my feet but sometimes I fell down once I step on her toys. It pissed me off honestly, sometimes I wish we didn't buy her toys because she doesn't clean up after her mess. We end up sleeping at night with all the toys cluttered all over our place. When we need to get up at night, possibility is we fall down for stepping into her toys.

I found this article this morning stating the only 5 things necessary to keep around for the baby. You see no mention of plastic toys here which for me is an awesome idea, keep it simple and clean is what I want to do.

1. Car Seat

Unless you plan to stay home all summer, you'll need a car seat. If you haven't already done so, you'll also need to upgrade your infant seat to a larger one to safely accommodate your growing child. And don't forget, experts recommend you buy a new car seat rather than borrow a used one since safety standards are constantly changing.

2. Crib

Even though my toddler manages to nap on a cot at day care, she still needs a crib at night. My pediatrician recently reminded me that parents need to shift their kids to a toddler bed or purchase a crib tent once their youngsters start climbing out of their cribs.

3. Stroller

Personally, I find a stroller indispensable because I live in New York City and walk everywhere. Once I move to the suburbs, I may feel differently. But I imagine a set of wheels are helpful no matter where you live since little feet tire easily.

3. Sippy Cups

Drinking from an open cup can be tricky for young toddlers. Many can do it, but not without frequent spills. So unless you like cleaning up after your child, some form of sippy or straw cup is quite helpful.

4. Potty

When a toddler starts showing signs she's ready to get rid of her diapers, you'll want a potty to help make the process move along more smoothly.

5. Crayons

Hands down, my favorite toddler toy is a simple box of crayons. Steal some paper from your printer and you can transform your little mess maker into a regular Picasso. You can also ditch the flashcards and use the crayons to illustrate your own alphabet and set of numbers.

Of course, you'll also need clothing and diapers. But I didn't include these on the list since I don't consider them toddler gear.

You're also probably thinking I forgot about the high chair, changing table and even the toddler utensils. Nope. I let my daughter sit on a regular chair at the dining room table. I change her diapers on a towel on the bed. (Sometimes I just do it while she's standing up in the bathroom.) And she's quite happy using our regular silverware, provided she gets a salad fork and tea spoon.

Finally, I'll admit that toddlers need books too. But that's what the library is for.

What toddler items can't you live without?

A Change Of Mind

So sweet of him! I truly do appreciate my husband for setting his family first before anything else in this world. He changed his mind not to take the test anymore to promote himself to becoming a detective instead stick to his career as a police officer until he retires.

Becoming one would be such a big change and a fulfillment of his career, might a pay a bit more but not much but losing so much time for his family. It was his dream to become a detective but considering all the sudden change and big impact it could cause to our family, he changed his mind. He would come home late tired and grumpy, less time to rest, less time with his kids, he would miss me, I would miss him etc... are the worst things we both think about.

He just doesn't know how thankful and glad I am he is more concern of his family than his career. He devoted himself selflessly to us and I should be very very happy with that. I am one lucky wife to have found such an amazing partner in life and a great father to our kid/s.

Leaving The Kitchen Neat

If there is one thing to be brag about my husband is that he is not a messy type of person. He knows how to clean up after himself. Unlike other men, he knows exactly where to put his dirty clothes and that go directly to the laundry basket. When he cooks, he makes sure that the kitchen is neat before he leaves there. He washes the dishes right away after using them to avoid the clutter.

And I am somewhat the opposite. Whenever I take turn in the kitchen, rest assured it will be a big mess as if it was just hit by a tornado. It's because, I want to finish cooking first before tidying up. I want to do the dishes all at once and clean the kitchen counter top and leave. Or sometimes I leave the place all messy and feed myself and the baby and would just come back when I am full. I have big belly you know and standing for long hours of cooking makes my back and legs hurt so I need to sit down and eat before cleaning!

Couple's Corner #3:My Husband As A Brother

Couple's Corner

There is nothing much to tell about how my husband being a brother to his siblings. All I know is that he is the eldest of three and he helped take care of his younger brothers when they were kids. He said he helped changed diapers, fed and played with his brothers and other than that nothing else. He and the third brother of his have grown apart with distant feelings, right now they aren't in good terms so I cannot really elaborate more. As to their relationship, they're kind of you know on the rocks!

Father's Day Photos

I had one of the best days of my life with my family today as we celebrated the Father's day. First off, I had Jadyn brought our gifts to her daddy and she opened it for him... a father's day card and a blow up picture of them in the garden hugging tight then we went to church afterwards...

I had my husband with me and Jadyn in church. For the longest time since Jadyn was baptized in the Philippines my husband went to church with us! How awesome. After the mass, we took few photos of us outside the church and headed to the Chinese restaurant for a lunch treat for Father's day. I felt good knowing that my treasured family are together on a day like this. I am blessed, so blessed having them in my life!

We ended our day by finalizing the set up of Jadyn's room with all the newly painted furniture in it. Will post photos on Jadyn's blog after this.

Here are the shots we took before and after church and in the restaurant...

I Already Have A Plan

It's Father's day tomorrow and I already have a plan for the father in this house. My baby girl and I are going to church at 11 so we need to wake up earlier than our usual waking time. But before leaving in the house, I would love to have baby girl to bring our Father's day presents to her daddy so he can open it with his girl next to him and take a picture of them together.

I would only tell what the presents are tomorrow evening. He might have an idea what it's gonna be but even so it will still be special for him to make him feel that all his support, love and care to his child and his family are appreciated. They are just so simple gifts but heartily given!! Hope he likes them!

Back to my plan, after church I would treat my husband to a restaurant, my treat so he can't say no to my invitation. I wouldn't even let him pay for the tip because as I say, it's my treat so he doesn't need to spend a dollar for our lunch tomorrow as we celebrate his day!

That Was A Good Question He Asked

My birthday is coming. I'll be two decades and 8 years old in 21 days. Huh, that old already? I am thankful I have been given those long years to experience and enjoy life with family by God. My husband asked me the best question ever a woman or a wife would want to hear. He asked " so what would you like to have on your birthday?". I didn't know what to answer but very pleased with his question. I jokingly replied him back "don't ask me what I want because you might can't give it to me, I would want to have a real genuine gold bar".. haha.. that time I told him that, I wasn't sure or couldn't think of anything else what I really wanted for my birthday.

I got on the internet, was gonna open the Dooney and Burke's site and browse for purses there when he walked toward my back. I don't want him to see what I was looking on the internet so I pretended to open other sites. Honestly, I have several D&B purses I'm eyeing on for days now and really want to get one for myself but... I have a mission.. a mission that requires quite a fair amount of money so I am saving up for it.

Anyway, minutes passed by... my husband suggested or asked me if I want a new digital camera, a much better one than what we're currently using... hmm camera? that would be a great idea. Not DSLR though for I know we are tight in budget right now... If I want one, that would be in the future but for now I would just settle for something that is the latest that takes the same quality or close to a DSLR one for my delivery... soooo a digital camera for my birthday would be awesome. I am easy to please, I appreciate every little or big things come my way...so I am loving the idea of having to use a much nicer camera than this cheap one I have right now...duh what do I expect, it only cost me 85 bucks when I bought it two years ago.

Soaking At The Backyard Pool

Soaking at our inflatable little backyard pool is the least we could do to beat the heat. These shots here were taken yesterday. My daughter seemed to enjoy the water very much and so did I. So hot these days that we almost get into triple digit everyday. It isn't officially summer yet, how much more when it's really S-U-M-M-E-R???

Post- Mother's Day Celebration With Friends

Myself, big girl and 5 other Filinas gathered together for a post Mother's day celebration at Grapevine Mills mall yesterday. At least 4 of us are mothers of one. I was the only that's pregnant in the group but that did not hinder me from roaming around the mall with them. We called it, ladies' day out. We all had fun thankfully. We met during lunch time so we managed to have our lunch together at the mall's food court. It wasn't a special gathering for us but it was worth the drive. It was also my first time to see Marly's and Emelyn's babies for the first time. They are pretty girls and really good babies. My pleasure to meet my Filipina friends here in Texas for we don't seldom see each other due to the fact that some of those ladies live from afar and few don't drive.

...... since I don't have pictures of me and my baby during Mother's day, yesterday I made sure I get one for remembrance...for me everyday is a mother's day because of the hard work I've done with her...
.....with girlfriends before we do our long walk, we took a pose right at the mall's entrance.......one is missing, the photographer
...we took our kids to a train ride, my big girl loved it so did the adults enjoyed the quick ride too.

A Mother's Day Treat

We had our Mother's Day lunch date at our favorite Chinese buffet yesterday. We did it ahead of time to dodge the Mother's day crowd today. So thoughtful of my husband for treating me out for a crab. He knows how crazy I am with crabs that is for sure. Not only I got my crab but I got to eat some seafoods I so wanted to eat for so long. I know I can make them at home but it is different when cooked at the restaurant. So simple is the celebration but it meant more than anything else to me. I celebrated it with the most wonderful people in the world, my family!

You'll see below I am out of the picture. I didn't feel like taking picture of myself yesterday instead took pictures of my husband and the baby...
......when I took this one, I told them it's supposed to be Mother's day not Father's day lol...
.......photo above is our baby girl with her desserts
...... oh lala..my crab legs...the highlight of the day and below more seafoods and veggies for the preggy mother. Jadyn saw the crawfish and said yuck, roaches!

Rotten Smell?

I was laughing so hard with my husband last night because for the first time in history I heard him complaining about the smell of the kitchen. He asked as if talking to himself saying, "what is that rotten smell in the kitchen?". I heard it and I answered him back, well, too bad for you. You're the only American in this house that find it stinky. Jadyn and I love dried fish that is why the smell doesn't bother us. Look straight in front of you, that's what stinks but we love it a lot!

He complained because it really is stinky there. I normally clean the stove right after I cook dried fish but yesterday I just left it unclean with all the oil that's been there since in the morning. I really thought he is not bothered with the stink because of the 6 years we've been together, I never heard him complaining about me cooking buwad!

A Good Joke Worth Sharing

I apologize for I have nothing to do this very early morning so I am sharing to you all this very good joke I have in my personal e-mail. Hope you have a good laugh after reading this and seeing the picture in the bottom! Have a nice Tuesday everyone!

Dear Family and Friends,
Most of you know I went in for a surgical procedure for a Butt Lift at the WalMart Medical Center . I didn't have the most pleasant experience. I should've left well enough alone.

I wanted to show you how it turned out. I hope this keeps YOU from having this done.

Please, PLEASE, PLEASE . . Don't get a Butt Lift at the WalMart Medical Center . You will most certainly regret it !!!
Love, Mabel

CC #: 1 How Do I Annoy Him?

Rodliz’s Nest

I been meaning to join this meme for so long but for some reason I keep forgetting making an entry for this one, so today... comes the very first submission I have for this meme.

My husband is reserved and quiet person and I am the opposite. I love to talk nonsense. The way to annoy him is when he need that peace and quiet at home especially when it's movie time and I make a noise, that surely would piss him off. Another thing that could annoy him is me just grabbing/touching his tits without warning. He said, it's okay to touch tits when it's sex time but if it is just ordinary time, he doesn't want that simply because he doesn't like the feel of my finger in them, haha!

How about you couples out there? What are sort of things that can annoy your better half? Share it here, I wanna read it!
